The official launch date for the club is 30 August 2001

So to qualify for free membership and to have the founding date on you membership cards please make sure we get your application forms filled in promptly. First Come, First Served, for the first 20 applicants.

I have been in touch with NCC (National Caravan Council) who runs the construction and safety side for all the manufacturers. It was regarding safety regulations, compulsory as well as 'highly recommended'. (There are 1400 checks done to new MCs).

The guy I spoke too was extremely helpful but had his limitations as to how much he could tell me, as I was not an official member, He did say however it would be a duty for him to divulge regulations should anyone one call him but only on specific things, although he is officially not allowed to, unless one was a member, but, he gave me all the British Standard numbers for 'Construction and Use'' Regulations.

So I, inturn, got in touch with the HMSO as to the availability and price of these items... SHOCK!! I nearly spilled my tea down my front, the total price comes to £512, but saying that they may be very helpful to us if we plan to get our vehicle checked for insurance purposes. So many insurance companies are asking for engineer reports etc now it is nice to know we may be able to get hold of these reg's. Maybe at a later date when we have a good subscription we could purchase these, it probably would only amount to a few pounds each . The other alternative is that maybe I would buy them but then charge for copies, whatever! I am sure we could sort something out.

Between now and then I will try other ways too, not quite so honest maybe......a bit of begging and Greeney charm might make someone copy them for us or something!! Any Ideas??

Second bit of news is that I have been in touch with MMM magazine and Motorcaravan magazine about exposure in next months mag, so far, MCm has said yes and I have written a letter to that effect but to date I have not heard from MMM.

Again any help with exposure would be greatfully received and I do not mean a holiday in arctic.
